You Tell Me

I was doing some research and came across some interesting items. I have put them as questions for each of you to ponder. If you want to post your answers, or not is up to you. I will post the answers on Tuesday.

1- What well known person from Fort Wayne made this statement this week?
"My general feeling is that outside monies carry great risk. Very few people or companies give money without wanting something in return," he said. "Certainly there is a correlation of interest. But they also want more – like leniency on rates. They will seek favor whenever and wherever they can."

2- Of Allen County's sixteen largest employers, how many of these employers pay property taxes?

3- How many of Allen County's sixteen largest employers produce a product that is sold to others?

4- Is Allen County population projected to go up or down by the year 2010?

5- Of children reported in school, in Allen County, for the 2006/2007 year what percentage attend public schools?

6- Of the 3,700 graduating high school seniors in Allen County for the 2004/2005 year planned on going onto Higher Education?

7- In 2004 Allen County median Household Income was $42,867. Of Indiana's 92 counties where do you think Allen County ranked?

8- Based on 2005 figures, how many people do you think drive into Allen County to work?

9- Based on 2005 figures, how many people do you think drive out of Allen County to work?

10- If you counted out 100 people living in Allen County, how many would live inside the city limits of Fort Wayne? Inside the limits of Grabill, Huntertown, Leo-Cederville, Monroeville, New Haven, Woodburn, and Zanesville?

My take on this is that being a mobile society (or community) has some real benefits.
The down side to that is we're TOO mobile a society (and community) and rely TOO heavily on being able to become nomadic for whatever reason.
