Bob Sievers - WOWO Legend Broadcaster - Dead At 90

I just learned the sad news that one of Fort Wayne's greatest people passed away earlier this morning. Bob Sievers was one of the most caring people Fort Wayne or Northeast Indiana has ever had. Bob's unique calming voice, with the aid of WOWO's 50,000 AM clear channel transmitter, was heard on radios covering more then 50% of North America.

As a radio broadcaster he was always proud to promote Fort Wayne, New Haven, Decatur or any other community in this area. From what I remember everyone loved the man. I can't remember anyone ever questioning a thing Bob would say on the air. He was as honest and humble of person you could ever want to meet. He did not take himself that serious as he often made jokes about himself and point out screwy things he would do.

I am not one much on dedicating things after some person as I feel often they are handed out for the wrong reasons. Nevertheless, sometime in the future I hope Fort Wayne or Northeast Indiana finds a way to pay proper tribute to one of its best citizens and promoters of the entire community.

For those of you that never had the chance to grow up listening to him on the radio you missed something very special. For those of us that had listened to Bob our hearts are a little heavy.

Bob, rest in peace and you will always have a special part in our memories.
